Swen and Alex
When the father with the son
In September 2021, Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf took in two Shetland ponies. Swen and Alex were the darlings of elderly owners for many years. Both have now passed their 70s, and the animal-loving gentleman himself unfortunately spends his time in a wheelchair. The people's heartfelt wish was to know that Swen and Alex were in good hands. In very loving words, the people described to us how much they are attached to them. Now their own lives are becoming more and more difficult in old age and they would like to know that their pets are at Gut Aiderbichl. Dieter Ehrengruber gave the "OK" and so the two ponies have been living in their new forever home in Henndorf for a few months.
The white Swen, who is 22 years old, is the father of Alex, who is around 18 years old and has a beautiful dark brown coat. They have been exploring their new home for months and seem to have already made many friends.
The family around Swen and Alex
The favourites of the children who visit Gut Aiderbichl are always the ponies. The children's eyes get big and questioning when they learn during the guided tour of the estate how some of the ponies actually found their way to Aiderbichl.
There are Finn and Rambo, for example, who were discovered by a woman. She was particularly taken with little Finn. He seemed to be ill and had an unnaturally fat belly. His best friend is probably Rambo, who never leaves his side. With blowing manes, the two gallop across the yard of their new home and are just happy.
One of Finn and Rambo's very best pony friends is Chris. Chris was just four days old when the pony mare died and the veterinary clinic asked to take in the orphan Christian. Nurse mares are rare and it is not always guaranteed that the nurse and the foal will accept each other. The animal rescuers from Gut Aiderbichl decided to take Bubi with them to pick up the little one. From the first moment we saw a touching scene: Bubi and Chris understood each other right away. Bubi made gentle movements and made the foal understand that he will now be there for him forever. Chris' adoptive dad showed him all the secrets that make up a good pony life.
Bubi himself had once been a "child act" in the circus. At some point, the circus career was over and Bubi and six other ponies would have gone to the slaughter. Fortunately, we heard about it. The then 8-year-old tamer of the ponies was overjoyed that her darlings could come to Aiderbichl.
All's well that ends well
The time of acclimatisation for Swen and Alex was not a difficult one. They are very calm and seem to be above things. Swen and Bubi have become special friends and walk comfortably around the farm. With them is always "Schlafmütze", a former mini horse from the circus.
Swen and his son Alex love their new home and the many friends they have made here: the ponies, the horses, the cattle and calves, the pigs and also the goats.
