Four heavily pregnant cats sought quick help
Gut Aiderbichl expects many kittens
Vfour white tabby cats were in desperate need of a new forever home. A lady told the animal emergency room that the owner of the cats was of the cats was severely ill with dementia and needed to go to a nursing home, and therefore thus unable to take care of his four cats and their unborn unborn babies to care for. The lady herself is also ill, and cannot take over the care of the pregnant animals.
So the four "Myladies" Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter came to the meeting place of Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf an.
Action had to be taken quickly ...
Autumn, about five years old and white tabby, was probably the cat that had only a few days left until the birth of her babies. So the keepers decided to bring Autumn to Maria Schmolln, so as not to cause jealousy among the other three cats when Autumn's offspring saw the light of day.
In Maria Schmolln Autumn got a cozy "nest" to have her kittens. Pregnancy in a cat can last for different lengths of time. As a rule, the gestation period lasts between 63 and 67 days. Two weeks after arriving at Gut Aiderbichl, the time had come ...
Autumn - her birth preparations
Autumn roamed around shortly before the birth to find a suitable place and retire there for the birth. Cats prefer a place where they do not feel observed and can be undisturbed.
Like all cats shortly before giving birth, Autumn showed typical behaviors and the keepers knew that "it" will probably start soon:
- Autumn ate less
- the body temperature dropped below 38.5 degrees
- Autumn reacted to her environment with restlessness. She made more sounds and cleaned herself more often.
- Shortly before giving birth, like all mama cats, she increasingly sought out the litter box, although she did not have to disengage when doing so.
- Autumn's teats were more swollen and she was leaking breast milk sporadically.
- The vagina secreted liquid discharge and a mucus plug is released.

Talon, Leaf, Pumpkin, Weene, Lunar
All kittens are well, healthy and already look quite funny through the area. They are constantly hungry and hardly let Autumn rest. Gallantly and patiently Autumn takes her new task.
Talon - a coal black tomcat - and his brother Leaf and Pumpkin are magnificent little males. The two sisters are called Weene and Lunar.
