Cat Rosie suffered from too high blood pressure

and needs her medications at the exact time

The gray tabby cat Rosie became ill. She suffered from high blood pressure, which also affected her eyesight. From the moment of diagnosis, Rosie must receive her blood pressure medication regularly and on time until the end of her days. Due to time constraints, the medication administration for Rosie's people, and so it was requested that Rosie, who is about 15 years old, be taken to Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf to take in.

Symptoms and consequences of hypertension in cats

Causes of high blood pressure in cats can be renal insufficiency, hyperthyroidism or diabetes mellitus. All three diagnoses cause the cat's blood pressure to rise. Sometimes the affected cat shows behavioral changes, such as poor eating behavior, weight loss, meowing more often than usual, or unsteady walking.

High blood pressure in cats is a warning signal and must be taken seriously. Especially older cats, from the age of seven, often have high blood pressure, and usually there are serious diseases behind it. Regular blood pressure measurement is therefore a responsible preventive measure also for cats.

Too high blood pressure puts a strain on the cat's heart, and also increases the risk of blood vessels rupturing and bleeding. Damage to the retina of the cat's eyes is also typical, and sudden blindness of the cat may be related to too high blood pressure.

Rosie's blood pressure stabilizes

When Rosie was admitted, her eyes were bloodshot due to high blood pressure. Since regularly taking the prescribed medication, Rosie's blood pressure has positively stabilized and the condition of her eyes has also greatly improved.

Currently, our new velvet paw lives together with Angelo and Aura in a cozy room right next to the big cat living room. Rosie has settled in well over the past few weeks, likes her fosters and also enjoys the closeness of Angelo and Aura.
Angelo is a white male cat who is chipped but not registered. He was very thin when he was found - nice and slow Angelo is getting a prosperity belly. Aura is also a foundling cat, and her owners could not be located. She was neutered, and in the foreseeable future the three new friends can move into the big cat living room. So once again we can say: All's well that ends well.

I never found human love where there was no animal love. Whoever truly respects life also respects the animal, because life was given to both of us by God.
