Fresh feed and hay
for the animals of Gut Aiderbichl
Gut Aiderbichl is now in the fortunate position of being able to cut its own fodder and also produce hay on the pastures that belong to the estate.
Hay is produced twice a year, and of the very best quality.
After mowing, the bales are turned twice and then the baling work begins. Dieter Ehrengruber proudly presents freshly pressed hay bales. The hay should not be pressed too tightly, so that it is not too hot, and so that not too much humidity is also pressed. The temperature of each individual bale of hay is measured and then marked. In this way it can be traced from which location the hay originates and at what time of year it was mowed and pressed. The Aiderbichler hay bales have standard values, between 12 and 15% moisture in the bale. After the baling process, the hay is between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Inspection of the fields
before the mower drives into the high grass
Gut Aiderbichl and the Henndorf hunters' association have established a cooperation.
Before mowing begins, the men meet and start work with the thermal imaging camera. With the help of the thermal imaging camera, fawns or hares, which are not yet mobile and do not know the dangers that lurk on them, can be located.
With the help of the drone from above and the thermal imaging camera near the ground, the fawns are located, slowly and carefully circled by the human group and captured as carefully as possible. A fawn would not be visible to the naked eye. During the rescue, by no means forget the gloves and the torn grass as a protective cushion. The doe will observe everything, and after the human rescue will take care of her fawn again.
The mowers have an additional game warning device in the front area, which emits a sound, and thus also assists in getting animals lying in the high grass to run away if necessary.
Located comes fawns or hares are protected in a container to be released after mowing is completed.
