Bull Ferdinand
A rescue with heart
The destiny of farm animals is to be transported to the slaughterhouse when they reach a certain age and weight. Everything is calculated here - the breed, the age and the live weight of the animals. Bull Ferdinand was to meet the same fate, but he was lucky.
An animal friendship
Bull Ferdinand lived on a farm near 11-year-old Sosanna and had been different from his peers in the stable since birth. Whenever the girl came to visit her grandma, the young bull would greet her and lick her tenderly. When Ferdinand was to be slaughtered, Sosanna began to fight for his life and started an appeal for donations on her 11th birthday.
1,800 euros saved Ferdinand
After Sosanna managed to buy her beloved bull free, Dieter Ehrengruber received a call for help from the young girl. She was still looking for a forever home for her animal friend. Ferdinand has now found his home at Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf.
The two-year-old ox is completely calm and always looks dreamily out of his stable. His brown coat shines beautifully, he has a great horn system and huge, dark eyes with long eyelashes. Ferdi loves people and enjoys being stroked on the head.
Animals feel similarly to humans
Unfortunately, farm animals are considered as such and are not kept in the stable to be petted. However, one can observe very well how they love and also trust humans. Sosanna saved the life of an adorable ox through her consistency and persistence. The little girl looked, did not look away and helped her friend out of conviction and love for the animals.
