Mongrel Charly

the partner with the cold snout

For thousands of years, the dog has been man's oldest and most loyal companion. Once a wild predator, today it is part of the family and very often a helper in times of need.
The good relationship between man and his dog is an expression of a unique trust. Domestication has turned the grey wolf into man's best friend. There are over 400 different species of dogs. Man became sedentary and began to breed them. No matter when man and his dog began to share their habitat, one thing will always remain: The close bond that benefits both the two-legged and the four-legged.

Homeless due to illness

Charly is a Beagle-Bulldog mix who is just under five years old.

Unfortunately, his owner fell ill and is now paralysed. This means that certain things in life are no longer possible, such as walking Charly every day.

For both of them, the new life was rather gloomy, and out of sheer desperation, they asked if we could take Charly in.

At Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf,
a sad Charly moved in...

Charly's body language expressed what humans call grief and helplessness.
Ears folded back, wrinkles around the trusting dog's eyes, the whole posture was powerless and slumped.
The groomers took great care of their new charge.
This man's best friend demanded extra affection and had to be made to feel: "We care about you. All the other dogs will help you, your life will get back on track. We know that you miss your owner".

A wait without end

But love always wins

Charly looked forward to the walks and to the dog play area in Iffeldorf. The other dogs probably sensed that he was sad and felt abandoned. They themselves played and romped with each other as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Charly sat apart on the meadow and gave the impression of waiting for his master, who could not come. Charly was also overweight when he was taken in. The regular exercise and change of diet helped to reduce it.

The love and affection of the groomers was to pay off.
Charly slowly began to move more joyfully on the dog playground. More and more he joined his fellow dogs and became more relaxed.
The time spent sitting and waiting became shorter and shorter.

Things are looking up

The figure is slimmer, the eyes are already shining a bit again, the sad ears are less and less laid back, Charly is panting out of joy when playing and has finally arrived.

We know that he will never forget his master. He had a good life with him and they were a great team until the illness came. We wish Charly's owner and Charly himself new confidence and trust in life.
