Horse Lucky

It was with a heavy heart that the gelding was handed over

Numerous animals live on the farms of Gut Aiderbichl, whose owners could no longer keep their beloved animal for financial or health reasons.
In the case of Lucky, his owner was given a horrific diagnosis by the doctors a few years ago. More and more it became a problem for her to take care of her beloved Lucky. The thought of having to part with her horse became worse and worse for her. The living conditions became more and more painful and complicated.

People can't help endlessly

For three years, the sick woman had been supported in Lucky's care by a friend, but now everything is becoming too much for her own health reasons. Lucky's horse box has now been mucked out for a fee.
Lucky suffered pharyngeal obstruction twice, the cost of the veterinary treatments and all the work with Lucky was like a financial explosion and brought the woman to the point of turning to Gut Aiderbichl.

... and then there was hostility from people

The other horse owners in the stable, where Lucky lived as a pensioner, criticized the poor treatment of the horse. The sick woman was expected to look after her horse every day and to take care of him in a species-appropriate manner. The physical and psychological situation deteriorated visibly, and a thunder of relief could probably be heard when the animal emergency center of Gut Aiderbichl was able to give the approval for Lucky's admission. Once again, there should be something like a happy ending for a human and his animal.

"You're doing great, dear Lucky"

The almost 27-year-old Lucky has settled in wonderfully in his new forever home in Deggendorf. The peace and freedom for the animals on the farm are like balm for Lucky's horse soul.
He enjoys standing in the sun and enjoying his life. What is he thinking about? It's often like he's smiling.

Horses feel us humans. It is as if they have very fine antennae that allow them to communicate with humans. They radiate calm and contentment, as well as strength and pride. People find all of this in Lucky, even if he is no longer the youngest. He likes people.

His state of health is checked regularly – so far everything is good. Lucky can chew well again because his teeth have been repaired.

With old horses, I always notice that they are particularly "cuddly". Lucky is probably one of those cuddly bears – he does everything with his mischievous smile.

Sometimes the strongest connection between two beings is the one that cannot be expressed in words.

When we are allowed to meet horses, it is always a special atmosphere. A horse shows us how to live in the here and now, without worrying about the past or the future. Standing proudly and upright, loving the wind, the sun and freedom – that's also Lucky's motto.

At this point, I would like to thank you once again for the many people who support the work of Gut Aiderbichl. They are the ones who make it possible to take in the animals again and again and, as in this case, help the animal and its human. Take a look and help – a great thing.
Yours sincerely, Gisela
